A "typical" house in the UK requires approximately 10,000 kWh (units) energy for central heating, 5,000 kWh of energy for hot water and 3,000 kWh for electrical appliances. With correct house design and increased insulation, it is possible to almost eliminate the requirement for central heating in Cornwall.
